About Jennifer
Jennifer Farrar
Travel Agent/Owner
In 2022, I became disabled from COVID induced POTS and Gastroparesis. Since my diagnosis, I have been on many cruises and multiple land vacations. I have learned a lot. But mostly, I have learned that a lot of people believe that they can’t travel because of mobility challenges, immunodeficiency, allergies, or a wide variety of medical issues. It took a lot of time and research, from calling specific ports to make sure they were wheelchair accessible to figuring out how to eat in a ship dining room without causing a flare; but I realized that as someone with mobility issues and someone who is COVID cautious, I could travel safely. Becoming disabled has taken away a lot of things in my life, but I refuse to let it take away my ability to wander.
I want to make vacations as easy as possible for others in the disabled community. That's why I created Accessible Escapes, LLC! I love to travel (especially by ship), but more importantly, I love to research about travel. Cruise Youtubers? I've watched them all. Itineraries? I've built more than I'd like to admit just for fun.
With a masters degree in information science (aka a librarian/research degree), a background in customer service, and personal experience with mobility and health safety challenges, it is my passion to make sure that vacations are fun and doable for EVERYONE, no matter their situation. Including you!
So let's talk!
P.S. I'm not just passionate. I have credentials, too! See my certifications below.
